The 700-metre-long underwater trail is a unique attraction that paves the way for a new form of tourism -- active educational tourism. Those interested will be able to explore the sea with the aid of diving equipment and professional guides, the Mayor of Tisno, Ivan Klarin, told Hina.
"We got the idea for the project from similar underwater trails on the Cote d'Azur in France. We designed the project and sent it to the association for marine protected areas in the Mediterranean (Med-PAN), which recognised it and awarded us 300,000 kuna. The remaining one million kuna for the completion of the project came from the Tourism Ministry's Environmental Protection Fund, and we will partly finance it with municipal funds as well," Klarin said.
