Foreign minister talks demonstration against Cyrillic signs

Autor: half
TROGIR, April 6 (Hina) - Foreign Minister Vesna Pusic said in Trogir on Saturday she expected tomorrow's protest rally in Zagreb, against the introduction of Cyrillic signs in the eastern town of Vukovar, to pass without chauvinistic outbursts, adding that everyone was entitled to a political opinion but that the law must be respected.

"It's very important that tomorrow's rally be absolutely free of chauvinistic outbursts," Pusic told the press when asked to comment on the demonstration.

She said everyone had the right to express their political opinion if they had the arguments and the need to do so, but added that "the fundamental political position is that there are laws in force in Croatia and they should be respected."

She said it was possible to discuss timing and criteria but that laws did not function on the self-service principle.
