"The European border between Croatia and BiH will not be a Chinese Wall in the new circumstances but must connect people. I'm sure that we, BiH and the European Union will find the best models to preserve this link, which is really important," Josipovic said after meeting with Bosnian Presidency Chairman Nebojsa Radmanovic.
Josipovic said Croatian-Bosnian relations were friendly and that the most important topic of discussion between officials was Croatia's EU accession on July 1.
"Our strategic interest is that all countries in the region become European Union members. BiH is in many ways our most important partner and most important neighbour. Just as the EU is an opportunity for Croatia, it is also an opportunity for BiH. Croatia's momentum upon joining the European Union will reflect in good part on the countries in the region, first and foremost BiH."
Josipovic said BiH and Croatia were linked by a 1,000 km border, "friendship, history and the many Croatian citizens of BiH origin."
Radmanovic said he was glad about Croatia's EU accession, and that there were no outstanding issues between the two states. He said everyone in Bosnia thought the accession would be useful to all Bosnian citizens as well. "However, there are minor problems on the border... and we are presidents are trying to help solve this issue."
