(Hina) - A reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on
daily newspapers from 10% to 5% should not be automatic and
unconditional but should only apply to newspapers of public interest
and where editorial staff abide by the statute and employ journalists
through working contracts, journalists in working groups assisting the
Ministry of Culture in preparing a media strategy have said.
