Autor: half
OSIJEK, March 18 (Hina) - Economy Minister Ivan Vrdoljak said in Osijek on Monday that a bill on strategic investments would be sent to parliament in a few weeks.

Speaking at Proinvest, a presentation of the government's measures to encourage and restructure the economy, he said the goal was to arrive at the final version of the bill in communication with the public, entrepreneurs and local governments, without derogating existing physical plans.

He said the government decided to push the bill after seeing the obstacles entrepreneurs faced and that it did not investors to wait for years to obtain permits to complete their investments.

It is flippant it we close the door to big private investments which bring new values, technologies and jobs, because we expect a lot from private capital, Vrdoljak said, adding that the government wanted to respect investors and give them a chance to ensure economic growth.

Agriculture Minister Tihomir Jakovina said last year's investment in his sector from the IPARD fund amounted to HRK 125 million out of a possible HRK 195 million, as against only HRK 20 million invested in 2010 and 2011.

This year's investments from the IPARD fund are planned at HRK 270 million and at HRK 57 million from the IPA fund.

Jakovina said that after joining the European Union, Croatia would be able to draw EUR 333 million annually in the 2014-20 period for investments in rural development.

Labour Minister Mirando Mrsic said more jobs were still being lost than created but that the trend had been changed in the last two months.
