The idea is to offer parliament and government as well the public, political parties and nongovernmental organisations "some very concrete ideas" that can help cushion the debt crisis and citizens' poverty, Josipovic told reporters.
He said he had asked decision makers for advice in preparing the meeting, adding that without consulting experts "it's not possible to find the appropriate solution."
Asked to comment on announcements that Croatia would borrow again and issue bonds worth US$ 2 billion, Josipovic said, "We know Croatia has big ambitions. We want to expand investments and create jobs, protect our citizens' standard and enable them to live as well as possible. When we don't have sufficient means, we borrow."
He said he wished there was no borrowing but hoped that the borrowed amount would be spent in the most rational and the best way, by bearing in mind that the money would have to be paid back.
"It would be good if we indebted future generations as little as possible and paid back what we took."
