Speaking to the press, Minister Mirando Mrsic said he was pleased with its inauguration, adding that the position of pensioners in Croatia was not good and that a lot of effort had to be made in that area, and not just with regard to financial problems.
He said the Council would discuss all pensioners-related legislative initiatives to be sent to parliament.
Mrsic said that at its next meeting on February 1 the Council would discuss the pension insurance law and the pension reform.
The minister said that this year pensions would be indexed to salaries and paid on time.
