Grivicic called on the Ivo Sanader cabinet to hold an urgent meeting with farmers "tomorrow or on the day after tomorrow and not to wait for ten days to pass," what was suggested by the competent ministry.
The farmers' leader said he had information on "government's intentional postponement of talks on the harvest and purchasers of the wheat so that saviour can be found in the nick of time" who he said should be "one of financiers of the HDZ (ruling Croatian Democratic Union) and who would buy wheat on conditions he sets".
He declined to name that financier and only said that it was a leading company in the farm sector.
Grivicic said that one should not expect of farmers to accept lower wheat prices this year than last year's ones, namely below one kuna per kilogram.
He also complained about unpreparedness of grain silos.
