Soft oils reversed their early gains while palm oil continued it's downward path which started after a sell off towards the close of the Malaysian market. Traders said there was little fresh news for the market to move on and it looked in danger of slipping into the pre end of year holiday doldrums earlier than usual. Palm oil was quiet despite some talk of possible Pakistan tenders in the next couple of weeks. "There's talk of small Pakistan tenders, but the Ivan Wong report due out on Friday has kept things quiet so far," said a trader. Crude palm oil cif Europe closed unchanged to $7.50 down in a tradeless market while refined palm oil was $1.50 to $5 lower with no further business reported. Coconut finished $5 down to unchanged after Nov/Dec traded at $805, $802.50 and $800, Dec/Jan at $780 and $757 and Jan/Feb at $767.50 a tonne cif in a flurry on dealer trading. Palmkernel oil was unchanged to $2.50 and tradeless. Dutch soy oil closed unchanged to 0.50 guilders down after May/Jul traded at 91.50 guilders while rape oil was unchanged to 0.25 guilders lower after Aug/Oct fetched 94 guilders a 100 kilos fob exmill. Based on sellers' prices, the premium for rape oil over soyoil was 2.50 to 4.50 guilders the close against 3.75 to 4.50 guilders on Wednesday.
