Thursday's Thankgiving Day holiday in the U.S. and a trade dinner in Hamburg on the same day sidelined many players. "There is no fresh news in the market and buyers have mostly disappeared," said a trader. Traders were not expecting much of a lead from Chicago when it reopened this afternoon. "A lot people in the U.S. will be making a long weekend out of Thanksgiving Day so we are unlikely to see much happen," said one. Crude palm oil cif Europe closed $5 to $10 down while refined palm oil was $2.50 to $7.50 lower with no trades reported during the afternoon. Coconut oil closed $5 to unchanged and palmkernel oil $5 up to unchanged in tradeless markets. Dutch soy oil finished unchanged while rape oil was 0.25 guilders down to 0.25 guilders up. Based on sellers' prices, the premium for rape oil over soyoil was 3.75 to 5.25 guilders the close against 1.50 to 4.50 guilders Thursday.
