Earlier Malaysian private forecaster Ivan Wong's last estimate for October had had little impact on the market. Wong put local palm oil output at 880,000 tonnes, up 1.8 percent over September and end-October stocks at 965,000 tonnes against 894,030 at end-September. Traders said although private forecast were useful most people prefered to wait for the offical data. News that Pakistan had bought 4,500 tonnes of RBD palm oil had little impact. Pakistan's state-run Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) bought 4,500 tonnes of RBD palm oil at $529.50 a tonne c and f from Pan Century for shipment by December 10. At the close crude palm oil was $2.50 to $5 up after Nov traded at $560 and Dec at $547.50 a tonne cif. Refined palm oils finished unchanged to $2.50 up in tradeless markets. Slow shipments from origin kept nearby coconut oil firm with closing sellers for Nov/Dec at $800 a tonne, $25 up on the day. Forwards positions were unchanged to $5 up after afloat traded at $880, Nov/Dec at $780 and $795 and Dec/Jan at $760 a tonne cif. Dutch soy oil closed unchanged to 0.50 guilders up after 86.50 guilders was paid for Dec while rape oil was unchanged after May/Jul traded 95 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill. Traders said there was no vulome behind the business. Based on sellers' prices the premium for rape oil over soy oil was four to five guilders at the close against 4.50 to five guilders on Wednesday.
