Tight supplies and a general firmness overall for the European vegetable oils led coconut oil to close around $20 above Wednesday's finish. Business on coconut oil ranged from afloat at $825, through to Jan/Feb at $750 and $755. Most active Nov/Dec sold at $780 up to $790. Soy and rape oil boosted by fresh early gains on the Chicago soybean oil futures closed 0.50 to 1.50 guilders up. Only one trade was reported on the soft oils, which was for Feb/Apr soy oil at 90 guilders. The palm oil sector lifted by Chicago and a firmer close on the Malaysian palm oil futures ended $2.50 to $7.50 up. During the afternoon the only business seen was for crude palm oil.
