In a burst of active trading Oct/Nov fetched $712.50 and $710, Nov/Dec $705, Dec/Jan $700 and Jan/Feb $700 a tonne cif. Traders said a heavy tonnage was traded mainly between dealers. Closing coconut oil sellers were $12.50 to $10 below Thursday's close. Palmkernel oil also attacted some interest with $680 paid for Oct/Nov and $682.50 for Jan. Sep/Oct traded at $685 a tonne in a switch with Nov/Dec at $685. Selllers were $7.50 to $5 down at the close. On a palm oil market lacking news prices were slightly lower with little activity reported in Europe. Crude palm oil closed $2.50 down after Nov traded at $517.50 and Jan/Mar at $515 a tonne cif. Refined palm oils closed $2.50 to $5 down with no further business reported during the afternoon. Soft oils were mixed with soy oil one to 1.25 guilders up and rape oil 0.75 to 0.25 guilders lower with no business reported after the opening trade of 89.50 guilders for Nov/Jan soy oil.
