The most-active March contract eased 0.07 on the day to 10.81, having ranged from 10.89 to 10.78. The deferred months finished 0.04 and 0.01 lower. Support remained at 10.70 and resistance at 10.94. The market is seen trading within this range as producer selling is likely to limit any attempted move higher amid a dearth of news. Volume was estimated at a paltry 7,261 lots. Open interest in the March contract fell 2,049 lots to 83,629 lots. The former Soviet republic of Belarus said earlier today it signed a contract for 120,000 tonnes of South Africa raw sugar, and plans to purchase 200,000 tonnes of raws from Cuba and Latin America.
