Trade selling at the highs and speculative buying at the lows framed today's activity, floor sources said. The failure of the October contract to pierce its recent high of 11.87 Tuesday, triggered today's action. Traders expect buying interest to emerge in the 11.60 cent a lb range. Activity is likely to pick up as the October contract nears its expiry in about five weeks. Until that time, market sources see a dearth of fundamental news. October closed up 0.01 at 11.82, having ranged from 11.85 to 11.72. March finished off 0.01 at 11.46, while the back months ended 0.07 to 0.02 lower. LCE white sugar futures also closed mixed in rangebound dealings. The October contract ended up 20 cents at $353.50.
