The market bounded higher from the opening as speculators made several attempts to test resistance toward 11.92 cents a lb for October delivery. While it failed to push through the upside objective, speculative interest held steady throughout the session, dealers said, boosting October's premium to 0.40 cent from 0.24 cent Monday. October settled up 0.29 cent at 11.88 cents after ranging from 11.49 to 11.92. Second-position March gained 0.13 to 11.48, while the deferreds rose 0.04 to 0.13. "Basically, today's activity was all technical," said a trader. "If October penetrates 11.92 cents tomorrow, it should be able to move higher."
