European traders were reluctant to follow the continuing rally in Chicago soy oil futures. "Sellers know they can't keep pushing prices up because buyers won't follow. But there has had to be some movement in the guilder based soft oils owing to the stronger dollar," said a trader. In the palm oil sector news that Pakistan is unlikely to cut it' edible oil duty in the near term came too late to affect the Malaysian market and had little impact in Europe. Crude palm oil cif Europe closed $2.50 down to unchanged after Mar traded at $577.50 and $575 a tonne cif. Products closed with RBD oil $2.50 up to unchanged and olein $2.50 down to unchanged. Coconut oil finished $5 down to unchanged after Jan/Feb traded at $782.50 and May/Jun at $750 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil closed with sellers $5 to $2.50 lower. Dutch soy oil closed 0.50 guilders up to unchanged after Mar traded at 104, May/Jul at 104.75 and Aug/Oct at 105.75 and 105.50 guilders a 100 kilos fob ex-mill.
