Palm oil was quiet and traders do not expect business to pick up before the middle of next week owing to the Chinese Lunar New Year and Moslem Eid al-Fitr holidays in Asia. Soft oils were also quiet with most of the day's business comprising of switches. Crude palm oil closed mixed with sellers $2.50 up to $2.50 down after Feb traded at $582.50 and $580 and Mar at $580 and $577.50 a tonne cif. Among products RBD oil was unchanged while olein sellers were unchanged to $5 down after Feb traded at $595 in a switch with May at $580. Coconut oil finished $2.50 up to $5 down after Feb/Mar traded at $780 and $782.50, Mar/Apr at $767.50 and Apr/May at $762.50 a tonne cif. Palmkernel oil closed $2.50 up and tradeless. In soft oils soy oil closed 0.25 guilders up to 0.50 guilders down after Mar/Apr traded at 97.50 and Aug/Sep at 99.25 guilders in a three way switch.
