"Palm oil has not been as active this morning as it has been during the last couple of days because people are now waiting to see the PORLA figures on Saturday," said one trader. Traders said the surge in Chicago prices on Tuesday was not helping the market, with most players unwilling to take fresh positions while the U.S. market was in the grips of the fund managers. Crude palm oil cif Europe opened $5 to $2.50 down after February traded at $585 a tonne cif. Coconut oil started the day unchanged to $5 up while palmkernel oil was $2.50 higher.
