Traders said the European market had been sidelined for most of the day despite active palm oil trading in the Far East which pushed palm oil prices higher. "Our prices followed the Malaysian markets, but in the end there was no local demand," said a trader. At the closed crude palm oil cif Europe was $5 up with no further business reported. Products were also quiet with sellers $2.50 to $5 up. Coconut oil also finished $2.50 to $5 up with business confined mostly to switching. Dec/Jan traded at $797.50 in a switch with Jan/Feb at $790 a tonne. Feb/Mar also traded in a switch with Mar/Apr at a $12.50 spread. Palmkernel oil closed unchanged to $2.50 down.
