"We could see more consolidation and even some recovery in the next few days or weeks though, as the March/May roll goes on, which large call option positions likely to be supported before the expiry," Refco analyst Anne Prendergast said. "Declining supply from Brazil at the end of the harvest may also help," she said. CSCE March world sugar closed up 0.02 cent a pound at 10.51 cents, after seeing a session high at at 10.66 cents. Total volume was estimated at 13,904 lots, compared with 30,123 Monday. The March/May contango spread narrowed slightly to 0.10 cent from 0.13 cent at Monday's close. On the daily charts, the March sugar still looks oversold, analysts said, with the standard five-day slow stochastic indicator down to 9.43 percent at the close and a nine-day RSI (relative strength indicator) at 34 percent. But after Monday's break below the 10.50 cent support level, the trend was down, analysts said.
