Josipovic recalled that more than 1,000 Croatian troops were engaged in those operations and missions.
Croatia is a member of NATO, which presupposes security guarantees and the obligation to contribute to collective security and stability. Very soon, Croatia will become a member of the EU. Croatia is a member of the UN, participates in numerous regional organisations and initiatives, contributing to the security and stability of itself, the region, Europe and the rest of the world, as well as to the creation of conditions for the development and prosperity of the states in which Croatian troops are engaged, the president said in his message.
He underlined that Croatia's allies and partners, as well as the population and the authorities in the areas where its troops were engaged, recognised Croatia as modern and democratic.
