Croatia, Bosnia make progress in solving issues

Autor: half
BRUSSELS, Dec 19 (Hina) - Big progress was achieved at a technical meeting in Brussels on Wednesday between delegations of Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the European Commission, paving the way to a final agreement on how to deal with issues brought on by Croatia's impending accession to the European Union.

Croatian Ambassador in Brussels Vladimir Drobnjak said the meeting was constructive and that a lot had been done, paving the way for a successful ministerial meeting in February.

Now we can be much surer that everything concerning the border and other regimes will be ready by July 1, he said.

The chair of the Bosnian commission for integrated border management, Miro Djakula, said they had reached agreements on border traffic and border crossings.

He said Bosnia was likely to get another border crossing for the inspection of animal products, Izacic - Licko Petrovo Selo, alongside the two envisaged in Croatia's EU Accession Treaty, Metkovic II - Bijaca and Stara Gradiska - Gradiska.

The Brussels meeting also discussed the transit of goods through Neum, Bosnia and from the Bosnian border to the Ploce seaport in Croatia. The latter will be defined with European Commission regulations.
