Such conduct by political parties and the fact that no institution in charge on which said laws will have a devastating effect has reacted shows that Bosnia is not a democracy but a state imprisoned by the interests of six individuals, a dozen NGOs, including Transparency International, said in a press release.
They said that amendments to important laws - such as on elections, conflict of interest, the senior judicial and prosecutorial council, and the state service - without public discussion and in fast-track procedure was a dictatorial and non-democratic act by the ruling parties.
The NGO said the political parties in power only confirmed that they had absolute control over all processes in Bosnia and set themselves above legislation.
SDP and SNSD leaders Zlatko Lagumdzija and Milorad Dodik politically agreed on amendments to a number of laws and were backed by presidents Dragan Covic of the HDZ, Bozo Ljubic of the HDZ 1990, Fahrudin Radoncic of the Alliance for a Better Future, and Mladen Bosic of the SDS, while international administration representatives in the country criticised them.
