Commenting on claims that the ruling coalition was in a crisis because of disagreements on said tax, Hrelja said this was not a case of government crisis but "unfortunate circumstances" and that in future, strategic moves should be discussed more frequently.
He said the HSU realised that citizens were against any new tax.
Ivan Jakovcic, president the ruling coalition's Istrian Democratic Party (IDS), told Hina on Friday the distancing of the Croatian People's Party (HNS), as the coalition partner of the Social Democrats (SDP), from the real estate tax bill did not mean there was a government crisis but that there was "a crisis in communication and coordination of key government moves."
He said Croatia needed a tax reform but the IDS was against any law that would put a further burden on citizens.
