This sector's debt at the end of 2011 was about HRK 5 billion and is believed to have grown by an additional HRK 600 million this year, said Finance Minister Slavko Linic.
Health Minister Rajko Ostojic said health care should be restructured also because of population ageing, adding that health care had become a luxury so that even the most developed economies such as the US and European Union countries invested in the restructuring of this sector.
Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic said the financial rehabilitation of health care would pose an additional burden because it was an expensive and complicated system.
