LJUBLJANA, Nov 11
(Hina) - None of the three candidates in
Slovenia's presidential election won the required majority on Sunday,
so incumbent President Danilo Tuerk and former Prime Minister Borut
Pahor will compete in a runoff in three weeks' time, according to
Mediana agency's exit polls released at 7 pm as polling stations
closed.
Pahor has won 41.9 per cent of the vote, Tuerk 37.2 per cent and Milan Zver, the candidate closest to the Janez Jansa Cabinet, 20.8 per cent, Slovenian Television reported.
Slovenian Television and POP TV commissioned the exit polls which included 11,000 voters. Mediana said the final results could differ by a maximum one per cent.
