Exports, imports decline

ZAGREB, Oct 31 (Hina) - Croatian exports in the first nine months of 2012 declined 0.8 per cent when expressed in kuna and 2.2% when expressed in euros, while imports went up 0.4% when expressed in kuna but fell 0.9% when expressed in euros, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said on Wednesday.

The export-import ratio was 57.5%.

Exports in said period totalled HRK 52.9 billion, while imports were HRK 91.7 billion. The foreign trade deficit was HRK 38.8 billion, up 2.2% from the first nine months of 2011.

Expressed in euros, with a 1.4% increase in the exchange rate, exports totalled 7.04 billion, while imports were 12.2 billion. The foreign trade deficit was EUR 5.1 billion, up 0.8% on the year.
