Creative Europe will support European cinema and cultural and creative sectors with EUR 1.8 billion in the 2014-20 period. European surveys show culture is increasingly important in economic development, accounting for 4.5 per cent of gross domestic product and more than 8.5 million jobs.
Speeches were delivered by Croatian Culture Minister Andrea Zlatar Violic and French Ambassador Jerome Pasquier, who said Croatia was positively perceived in France thanks to the Croatian Festival taking place there, which he said further strengthened the French-Croatian cultural ties.
Pasquier also urged intensifying cultural exchange, but also the economic dimension.
