A coordinating body comprising 27 associations of milk producers from seven counties has announced that it will stop delivering milk if the Agriculture Ministry does not see to it that the purchase price of milk goes up from HRK 2.40 to 4.05 per litre.
"If we are talking about HRK 4.05 as the purchase price, we must realise that milk can't (be sold in shops) at the current prices. I think that as consumers we are not ready for a price increase," Jakovina said in Tinjan.
He announced that the relations between farmers and milk buyers would be discussed at a meeting on Wednesday.
