Croatian president to visit Paris next week

Autor: half
ZAGREB, Oct 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Ivo Josipovic will officially visit France next week at the invitation of his French counterpart Francois Hollande, which will be the first official visit by a Croatian president to Paris since 2000, Hina learned from Josipovic's office on Friday.

The Josipovic-Hollande talks will focus on Croatia's accession to the European Union, scheduled for 1 July 2013. France is expected to ratify Croatia's Accession Treaty by the end of this year.

The two heads of state will also discuss the EU's future and Josipovic will reiterate Croatia's position that enlargement must not end with Croatia's accession.

The Croatian president is coming to France for an official visit for the first time as the president of a country that is now a European partner, his office said.

The two presidents will open an exhibition of Croatian medieval art at the Cluny Museum.

Josipovic will stay in Paris three days. He is scheduled to hold official talks at the French Assembly and Senate.

He will be accompanied by Croatian Culture Minister Andre Zlatar Violic.
