This is the 17th time Croatian entrepreneurs and craftsmen are participating in the fair. The Croatian Chamber of Trades and Crafts (HOK) is co-financing 30-50 per cent of the costs.
Slovenia is the closest and swiftest entry to the European Union market, making participation in the fair significant, notably in the context of Croatia's EU accession next year, said HOK.
HOK president Dragutin Ranogajec said Croatian small businesses would also attend the Maktek Eurasia fair in Istanbul on October 2-7 as well as the Tehnoma fair in Skopje on October 16-20.
The Celje fair, which closes on September 18, features 1,604 exhibitors from 34 countries. It will also provide an opportunity for talks between entrepreneurs and craftsmen from Slovenia, Croatia, Austria, Italy, Macedonia, Cyprus, Slovakia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Kosovo.
