Markovic briefed Kacin about what Montenegro had done to meet the accession requirements, notably in downsizing courts and amending criminal legislation in order to fight organised crime and corruption more effectively.
The two officials also discussed the screening of the negotiation chapters, concluding that a demographically small country nonetheless has enough human potential to begin this demanding process thoroughly.
Kacin and Markovic concluded that Montenegro's success was also a success of the EU enlargement policy and a generator of progress in its neighbouring countries, the Montenegrin government said in a press release.
