A lot of people were killed in the accident, even one is a lot, Milanovic said at the beginning of a government session, voicing confidence that the state would step up to the plate in good things as well.
Speaking of why he did not attend Mass for the homeland on Statehood Day, June 25, Milanovic said he attended Mass as prime minister on Catholic and Orthodox Christmas, because he thought that was civilised, and that he considered going to Mass in all other occasions a personal matter.
"I'm not a believer and I don't want going to Mass to be a matter of mere protocol," he said.
