The aim of the project was to upgrade the national border management information system (NBMIS) and to provide 25 border crossings with state-of-the-art information technology equipment.
The project was launched on 30 July 2010 and was completed this April. It was the second biggest investment project of the Interior Ministry and cost EUR 5.25 million, which was provided from the EU pre-accession fund.
Minister Ostojic said that all EU-funded projects which his ministry had completed or was still implementing were estimated at EUR 65 million, and he thanked the EU Delegation for its assistance in raising the standards set for each EU candidate.
Ambassador Vandoren said that the project was demanding and that it was encouraging to see excellent results.
