"Consultations are being held with Brussels continually and they are satisfactory," the minister said in Brussels where she arrived to attend a meeting of the Council for culture, education and youth.
According to the latest draft, the HRT leadership will be appointed by the Croatian parliament, and neither the government nor the ministries will be engaged in that process, otherwise it will constitute political interference. There is also no option for political parties to have their quotas in the (HRT) Programming Council, the minister said.
The new draft also provides for a clear division of responsibilities, with the Programming Council being in charge of evaluating the broadcaster's programmes and the Steering Council being in charge of supervision, while the management and editors would work together on programmes, according to the minister.
