ZAGREB, May 2 (Hina) - Please note that the second to last paragraph of the news items headlined "Foreign minister says is against going to Ukraine" contains a mistake and should read as follows: The Czech daily Lidove Noviny reported that President Vaclav Klaus will also boycott the meeting (changing HAVEL into KLAUS). Following is the corrected news item:
"Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Minister Vesna Pusic said on Wednesday there was a real possibility of the government deciding to cancel a visit by Croatian officials to Ukraine because of its treatment of imprisoned former Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko.
Pusic told reporters many countries had decided not to attend an upcoming Ukraine summit and that she leaned towards this position, adding that the government should decide on this matter.
Ukraine will host a meeting of presidents of central European countries in Yalta on May 11-12 and the European football championships in June together with Poland.
Hina learned at the President's Office that consultations are under way with the government and the foreign ministry on the possibility of Josipovic attending the Yalta summit or not.
The number of world politicians who plan to boycott Ukraine is rising after reports of Timoshenko's mistreatment in prison.
According to the media, a number of European presidents have already made a decision to that effect, as have European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso and European Commissioner for Justice and Fundamental Rights Viviane Reding. German Chancellor Angela Merkel is also considering boycotting the summit.
According to a number of German media, attendance has been cancelled by Presidents Joachim Gauck of Germany, Heinz Fischer of Austria and Danilo Tuerk of Slovenia.
The Czech daily Lidove Noviny reported that President Vaclav Klaus will also boycott the meeting.
Politicians will also boycott the part of the European football championships to be held in Ukraine in June."
