ZAGREB, April 19
(Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's Committee on the
Media on Thursday did not pass motions by the Supervisory and
Management Boards of the public broadcaster HRT to relieve Silvija
Luks as Chair of the HRT Supervisory Board because a majority
abstained from voting, while some members of the Committee said that
the two boards should collectively resign because of the bad situation
at the HRT.
Goran Beus Richembergh of the ruling People's Party (HNS) said that the situation at the HRT had never been worse and that all members of the Supervisory Board and the Management Board should therefore resign.
It was unanimously decided to send to the parliamentary groups for consideration all six applications for membership of the Supervisory Board for the rest of the term.
