PM says will nominate Sinisa Hajdus Doncic as new transport minister

Autor: itom
ZAGREB, April 4 (Hina) - Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic confirmed on Wednesday that Zlatko Komadina has resigned as Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Minister for health reasons, announcing that at the next government session he would nominate Sinisa Hajdas Doncic, incumbent prefect of Krapina-Zagorje County, to fill this position.

Milanovic said that until a new minister was appointed, Deputy Minister Zdenko Antesic would run the ministry.

I considered it to be my duty to inform the public about this, Milanovic said.

Unfortunately, Minister Komadina had to resign because of his condition. A part of his resignation letter was forwarded to the media, Milanovic today.

Earlier today the government issued a press release saying that Minister Komadina had resigned and forwarded a part of his resignation letter to the press. "Despite my wish to contribute, as a member of the government, to the reform process ahead of us, notably in the sector of transport and infrastructure, unfortunately my health situation does not allow me to do so. The decision was difficult, but I simply cannot ignore my doctor's advice," Komadina said in his resignation letter.

Milanovic said he appointed Komadina as Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure Minister for his experience and expertise.

The PM stressed there were no misunderstandings between them. Health is simply the only reasons for his resignation, Milanovic stressed.

Asked if he was satisfied with Komadina's work so far, Milanovic said Komadina had health problems from the beginning of his term. This is not about whether I am satisfied or not. We have been good associates, maybe even better over those past three months then we were before, Milanovic said.
