Kotromanovic said that Croatia was facing further development of its defence system. "Constant changes in the strategic context, such as integration into NATO and the European Union, and the financial crisis have considerably determined the course of defence reform," the minister said, according to a statement from the Defence Ministry. "At the start of this year we began preparing a whole set of documents with the clear goal of improving our work. We will continue the transformation process towards a modern, efficient and affordable system," he added.
Speaking on behalf of the Military Diplomatic Corps, Brigadier-General Manfred Sulzgruber wished the Croatian Armed Forces a success in the reform process, and highlighted the good reputation of Croatian troops serving in international peacekeeping missions.
