The HSS said that INA's withdrawal from the Syrian oil fields would cause huge financial damage both in the short and in the long term as fuel prices in Croatia were soaring. It asked the government to say, before it makes "such malicious moves", which partial political sovereignty it will keep after EU entry if already now it must follow such suicidal moves for Croatia as are EU sanctions against Syria, while Swiss and French companies are importing oil from Iran in violation of the international embargo.
The HSS described as completely unacceptable proposed amendments to the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture Act, saying that they were a blow to the organisation of farmers as partners to the government, the Ministry of Agriculture, and regional and local government units.
