ZAGREB, Dec 28 (Hina) - The Croatian oil company INA celebrated
today its 30th anniversary in the presence of Croatian Premier
Nikica Valentic, the Parliamentary President Stipe Mesic and other
distinguished personalities.
In his address, the general manager of INA Dr.Franjo Greguric
recalled the development of this biggest Croatian firm and its
position in the country's economy. He also recalled the constant
pressures of Belgrade on INA and the attempts to weaken its
economic position.
"The prices of our own oil and gas were always lower than of the
imported products in the former Yugoslavia, and it is estimated
that in that way in Croatia's income was reduced by some US$ 470
million in the last three decades," Greguric said.
INA's general manager also said that a part of Croatia is still
under occupation with all the consequences such a state brings. In
connection with that he said that the Croatian citizens of Serbian
nationality living in the occupied parts of Croatia were offered
to open petrol pumps and sell gasoline and other INA products in
the same way as in other parts of Croatia, but that they did not
encounter positive response.
