NOVA BILA, Dec 24 (HABENA/Hina) - Eleven more wounded were admitted
to the Franciscan hospital at Nova Bila near Vitez, central Bosnia,
on Friday, said hospital authorities.
In the shelling of Vitez, Moslem forces again used shells with
chemical filling, mainly chloride and chemical agents such as
irritants, lachrimants and choking gas. Four people were brought
from the village of Krcevine with signs of poisoning with chemical
warfare agents, said Herzeg-Bosnia's HABENA news agency, adding
that the report was confirmed by medical authorities.
"It is the third time Moslem forces used shells with chemical
filling against civilians," said Dr Tihomir Peric, director of the
Nova Bila hospital.
The news agency said Moslem combined artillery and infantry
attacks continued in the Lasva River valley (some 50 km northwest
of Sarajevo), adding that the wounded were being admitted to the
hospital by the hour.
The Moslem offensive in Croat areas in central Bosnia has been
going on for four days now. A Christmas truce concluded by the
three warring sides in Brussels, in the presence of the co-chairmen
of the Peace Conference on former Yugoslavia and European Union
foreign ministers, has taken effect at midnight last night but
obviously is not holding on the ground.
