ZAGREB, Dec 20 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman said on
Monday evening that he believed in a positive shift at the
following round of peace talks in Geneva and Brussels, especially
after the latest efforts of the international community.
Talking to journalists at Zagreb Airport before leaving for
Geneva, Croatian President pointed to the initiatives of the
European Union, the United States and Russia. President Tudjman,
leading the Croatian delegation at the negotiations in Geneva and
Brussels in the next three days, expressed hope a step forward
would be made.
Croatian President also referred to a message that was delivered
to him today from German Chancellor Helmut Kohl. According to
President Tudjman, the German Chancellor said many proposals from
the Croatian peace initiative were already included in the Kinkel-
Juppe plan, which meant a step closer to peace.
Talking about the issue of access to the sea, President Tudjman
said that it could be solved only on the basis of Croatia's earlier
proposals.
