ZAGREB, Dec 3 (Hina) - A delegation of mothers of missing and
imprisoned Croatian soldiers returned to Zagreb from London, where
they visited the British Parliament and met former Prime Minister
Margaret Thacher. Members of the delegation told a press briefing
on Friday that the problem of missing persons from Vukovar had been
discussed in detail during their visit to Great Britain.
Vera Stanic-Pivsevic, a parliamentary member in the delegation,
said that representatives of the Amnesty International in London
had also been warned about this problem. She said that Margaret
Thacher had expressed understanding for Croatia and called on the
international community to stop the aggression.
Next week the delegation of mothers is leaving for Geneva to meet
president of the International Red Cross Cornelio Sommaruga and
special UN envoy Tadeusz Mazowiecki to discuss the same problem.
