ZAGREB, Nov 25 (Hina) - The President of the International Red Cross
Committee (ICRC) Cornelio Sommaruga who is in a three-day visit to
Croatia, met today in the ICRC Office in Zagreb with delegation of the
Association of families of detained and missing Croatian soldiers.
After this behind-close-door meeting, representative of the Association
Ms Zdenka Farkas said that they discussed the problem of 11,700 missing
people during the war in Croatia. Special attention was paid to more
than 2,600 people that had been reported missing in Vukovar. The
Association representatives insisted that ICRC undertake all necessary
steps to release Croats still imprisoned in Serbian camps.
At the end of this year or in the beginning of the next one, a special
meeting of the ICRC and Association's representatives will take place in
Geneva and all necessary documentation on missing and captured persons
from Croatia will be presented.
