ZAGREB, Nov 15 (Hina) - The House of Representatives Committee for
Economy, Development and Reconstruction today failed to hold a
meeting because of a lack of a quorum.
The Committee was scheduled to discuss a Government report on
ownership transofrmation and privatization before the House resumed
its session. The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday.
Committee president Slavko Degoricija told reporters that
under the Statute the House of Representatives could not debate an
issue without the Committee's opinion.
Degoricija said that half an hour before the beginning of
today's session the Committee learnt that the central committee of
the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party was holding a meeting and
that Committee members from the ruling party would be unable to
attend.
