ZAGREB, Nov 15 (Hina) - A round table discussion on transformation
of ownership and privatisation, which included fifty experts, was
held today at the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.
A paper titled "Transformation" by Gust Santini and Zeljko
Rohatinski was the reference framework for the debate.
Offering several alternative privatisation models, the authors
said the distribution of the state-owned 7.5 billion DEM among
Croatia's 4.5 million-strong population would bring each citizen a
1.600 DEM bonus - which would be compensation "for everything that
has gone wrong in the privatisation process so far."
Ivan Jelaci, on behalf of the Association for Return of
Property and Property Rights, called for denationalisation laws to
be passed and for a "moratorium" on transformation to be
implemented.
