ZAGREB, Aug 8 (Hina) - Croatian Minister of the Interior Ivan
Jarnjak today received a group of Members of Parliament from the
occupied areas.
Minister Jarnjak told the MPs about the implementation of the
March 29 Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities in Croatia and the
August 4 Agreement between the Croatian Government and UNPROFOR.
Minister Jarnjak said provisions of the March 29 Agreement
relative to the Croatian police presence in disengagement zones
were not being implemented. The Serbs were refusing to adhere to
these provisions and UNPROFOR was failing to take a firm stand,
Jarnjak said.
He said the Agreement between the Croatian Government and
UNPROFOR on the control of crossings to the occupied areas was
being consistently implemented.
The MPs made several suggestions on how the Government could
add pressure on UNPROFOR to enforce UN Security Council
resolutions.
