SARAJEVO, Aug 5 (Hina) - In this evening's news broadcasting of
Sarajevo television the vice-president of the (Bosniac-Croat)
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ejup Ganic, confirmed that NATO
warplanes had launched an air strike on the Serb positions around
the Bosnian capital on Friday evening.
Ganic said that Lieutenant-General Sir Michael Rose, U.N.
peacekeeping commander in Bosnia, had informed Bosnia-Herzegovina's
senior officials that the bombing of the Serb targets had
commenced. The UNPROFOR commander in Bosnia also added that the
action had started and would be continued, according to Ganic.
